T-minus 3 Weeks until Move-In Deadline

The Greenville City Inspector came and approved continuance. However, Duke Energy has now determined that we need a new transformer (and pole to hold it). So, there was some negotiating between Michael and the electric company to get us moved up on their schedule and for some temporary power to be turned on to get the new AC unit running. That is good news, not only for comfort, but for the new flooring having a chance to dry-out (dehumidify) before Michael installs it.

Proof its cooling down.

We gave the kids moderate freedom to pick out the colors of their bedrooms, I went to Ace Hardware and bought all the interior paint we needed.
Cypress helped me pick-up the paint and get it loaded into my vehicle. We were lucky none of them spilled open when he accidentally dumped the entire shopping cart of paint cans onto the ground (luckily onto wood chips) in front of the store. Phew! (What a scene that was!)

Coral's room = 815 Swiss Blue

Cypress's room = 671 Soft Spruce

Michael's and my room = 144 Honey Burst

Michael's and my bathroom = 667 Maritime Blue

The kitchen/living room, hallways, and all ceilings are OC-53 Horizon (a very light grayish-white). The existing bathroom will get a fresh coat of paint that was color matched to this:
Very outdated bathroom. Not in the budget to renovate now. Future project.

I'm extremely pleased with the tile job in our new shower. The tile guy followed my design instructions perfectly. He hasn't grouted yet. But, so far, so good!
Vertical, staggered, glass subway tiles: bottom 'Cadet', middle 'Spa Blue', top 'Sky'

My current project is to clean, re-bulb, and re-tube this 15-light, brass chandelier:
It hangs in the hallway/stairwell down to the master bedroom. It requires scaffolding and a ladder to reach it, so once it's put back up, it won't be accessed again for years. You would think LED bulbs are the way to go. But, with a fixture this old, based on Amazon reviews of many different bulb types and shapes, it may be better to get incandescent. I haven't decided yet.
I've revamped 2 brass chandeliers before. But, they were much smaller than this beast! Because of the beveled glass enclosure, I won't be spray-painting this one.

My first chandelier re-vamp. This chandelier hopefully still resides in Glenmont, NY

My second chandelier re-vamp. This chandelier hopefully still resides in Voorheesville, NY

I researched a bit more about recycled glass countertops (for our bathroom vanity top). Turns out, the manufacturers of these countertops are NOT the fabricators (business/craftsman that cuts, polishes, and customizes each slab) I've spoken to two local fabricators - one is not keen on the material (hard to cut cleanly, results in pits that need fill-in), the other hasn't given me her honest opinion yet. So, even if we purchase a discounted remnant, and even if we drive to pick up the slab ourselves (there's a place in Charleston, SC), we would still need to pay the fabricator to customize and prepare the piece for us. This is all still under consideration. The master bathroom will not be finished by move-in and that's alright.
